				Motive Bleeder Question

Just replaced my soft lines and was preparing to bleed with my new Motive Bleeder. I attached the cap to my reservoir and pumped. Nothing. Needle doesn't budge. Take off cap and put rubber gasket with hole in it inside cap. (Why wasn't it in there anyway?) Screw cap back on and pump. Still nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Did you fully read the instructions on the side of the bleeder? I suspect you need to plug or seal the vent on the car's brake fluid reservoir as pressure and fluid will leak out of there. Also, do not unscrew the fitting cap on the reservoir to relieve pressure when you're done bleeding or if you have to stop to add fluid to the bleeder. Unscrew and relieve pressure with the lid of the bleeder. Read the instructions before proceeding or you can make a mess.

I read the instructions on it and everywhere else on the forum. It didn't seem as though plugging that hole would make a difference since it's beyond the cap, but it did. Now the problem is all the bleeder screws are frozen. Well I guess PBB and heat will get those to move. It never ends does it?

rs6er Only put the amount of fluid you want to bleed into the motive bleeder, and when you are bleeding, (the brakes that is) ,bleed the fluid all the way down to the full level in the brake reservoir, or you will have a mess on your hands, trust me I speak with experience on this, I have one of these handy little units and they work great, but when you are done and you don't bleed the fluid all the way down and go to remove the cap from the brake reservoir the fluid still left in the motive line will gravity feed down all over the place creating a big mess complete with cuss words and everything. | ||

Nutmeg. I was going to do the dry bleed method and top off the reservoir as I go along.

Ensure you are pulling the wrench in the correct direction to loosen or open the bleeders.

As in clockwise when you are looking from the OUTSIDE of the caliper?
