73 911T --is this a reasonable deal?

I own 2 porsches from the 80's era , but dont know much about a 73 911 T ( Targa ). A co-worker is selling this 911T for $ 10Kobo. Sounds like a good price , but the car has alot of non-original items. It has a documented engine & trans rebuild from Pat Williams Racing in TN , non-original paint ( burgundy ) , NOS seats , white faced gauges , Carrera Tail ( and matching Duck Tail ) , fiberglass front air dam & rear license plate panel and cookie cutter wheels. Car has upgraded suspension and brakes ( brembos ) & come with a garage full of spares including RSR fiberglass never installed. Is this car worth buying for this price ?

Thanks !!!

Personally I would think a lot of those are desirable upgrades, and pretty much all reversable if you or a future owner decide you/they don't like them. Ok, not reversable in terms of concours originality, but they shouldn't reduce the car's value. The real questions would be rust and engine condition - mileage vs. rebuild.

My $0.02 would say that if the car passes a PPI $10K is a fair price, maybe even a bit of a deal.

Yeah, if it's a sound car, I'd say that's not a bad deal. If you want to make it more original, you can sell off the aftermarket parts to fund your factory-correct parts purchases.

From someone that has a 73 T Targa, I say "Jump on It"

The big factor is the rebuilt engine. With a mag case, this is saving you a LOT......The value is in the fact you have the orginial drive train. The rest can be returned to orginial is you ever have the desire...

Pat Williams is the best. Shortly after purchasing my car one shop kept my car for a month trying to fix a miss, the 2nd shop wanted to do a top end rebuild. Pat diagnosed and fixed the problem in 10 minutes, since then he gets all my business.http://patwilliamsracing.com/

Yes, buy it - the few things one might not like (white gauge faces) are easily changed and can be sold.

Get a good PPI, but I would NOT wait...
