SC steel injector lines vs rubber/plastic

Are the steel injector lines from say an 83 911 compatible with the fuel dirstibutor of a 1980? One of my lines has a leak where it meets the injector - needs to be replaced. Would it be wise to replace with steel or simply source a rubber/plastic set?

I hope u tech heads answer this question. I'm looking to replace the fuel lines on my 1980 Targa also. My fuel lines aren't leaking yet, but heat shield covering has started to peel off.

I would feel a lot safer with fuel lines that looked as if they could hold up to Texas heat.!

I've peeled the remnants of the rubber coating on my fuel lines and have been running that way for 6 years without trouble. I've read where you could do that in this forum.

I'm replacing the WUR to Fuel distributor line for the second time with nylon 11 from McMaster Carr. I'll try to get a how-to published. I had white nylon for 6 years on the car with no leaks or trouble on the previous fix. I replaced it because of a kink. I really don't think the kink would have mattered in that to remove the tubing from the fittings I could tug until the line stretched but it wouldn't come off the fittings. I used a soldering iron to melt it off the fitting ends.

I have heard the steel lines work well as an option.

I also heard the McMaster lines resonate on the injector lines to cause missing. I won't know if that is true or not because I'm not replacing the injector lines.

There's a lot to read about the nylon line repair.

Not sure if steel and plastic interchange directly. If they do, go for steel. I recommend factory parts only in this area. If a line let's go at the wrong point in time, your car will burn to the ground. I replaced the WUR-fuel distributor line with a factory part. The only plastic (section) piece on the 81 and up.
