Valve cover gaskets
I had to replace my right lower gasket as it was dripping on the exhaust pipe. I used the green gasket. She still has a slight drip after a prolonged ride. I have re tightened the nuts but do not want to over do it. I didn't see that the valve cover was warped but am wondering if anyone has had luck with the silicone gaskets that are sold and are orange in color
Thanks in advance

I experienced a persistent oil leak from the left side valve cover (lower/exhaust).....tried the original type gasket, high $$$ silicone type and still had a leak. I have the original turbo type covers and I didn't think it likely that they could be warped, however, I finally took the "suspect" cover to a machine shop and much to my surprise, it was warped. I had it "decked" and I am now using a silicone bead gasket (I believe manufactured by Reinz) and so far I have had no leaks at all.
So, I would suggest that you have a machine shop check your cover for possible warping (if it's warped, no gasket will stop a leak)....if it can't be "decked", then I would suggest that you try a pair of turbo type covers. Use new nyloc nuts, clean up the mating surfaces real good and don't over torque the nuts (something between 6-7 ft.lbs should be more than enough).
