1973 911T Targa-- How would you restore this car?

After a good? hail storm, I finally have an opportunity and a good excuse to restore this Targa. I'm new to the board and need your help to do this right. I have owned this wonderful 1973 911T 2.4, 5-speed (built 10/72) with mechanical fuel injection since 1990 and know its history back to 1978. It has 78K orig. miles and the exterior(5) and the interior(9) are original except for Corbeau adjustable seats. With $7,000 from the insurance company for light hail damage (pics are after the storm) I can get a good paint job from a hot-rod paint specialist, or is the car valuable enough to justify doing more and dismantle to paint or new panels? There is some minor rust which I don't think will be too difficult (no new panels) and the hail dings aren't very deep. I'm leaning towards getting the best paint job short of taking apart a car that is very solid and never had anything more than a couple of dents. The car is yellow#117-9-1 and I plan to stick with it. Does anyone know the full color name? Porsche says says it was originally midnight blue metalic but I think they switched to yellow during the process. The car is yellow inside and out and the metal stamp with the paint number on the door jam looks original. How far should I go with restoration?

The painter I'm working with is planning to use all PPG paints starting with a white epoxy primer after stripping and prep. We were talking about 4 eurethane base coats and 3 clear. Do you like PPG? Right number of coats? What would you do?

Thanks in advance. I'll save the engine mods for later.

PPG is great paint ... especially the DP48LF Epoxy Primer [White] ... simply outstanding adhesion and durability, as well as ease of application!

I thought they had a good reputation but wanted to see what others thought.

How are the values running on 1973 911 Targa's? I hear they have been going up quickly the last two years.

I heard they were doing much better than $20K in restored condition. I'll definitely check the thread.

Anyone else with thoughts on the paint or process?

Porsche called the paint light yellow?! What, not canary yellow or speed yellow?
