87 Carrera sunroof seals install. Any advice

Looked over the tech article here and looks straight forward. In removing the headliner from the sunroof do I need a special tool or just yank on it? I don't want to break anything.

Any other tips or tricks?

BTW new to this forum.

edit- guess the post count gives newbie status away

Thanks

Hank,
This was one of the first projects that I did when I got my car almost 4 years ago. Just follow the tech article online or the one in the 101 Projects and you will be fine. As for the headliner on the sunroof just move the roof back 3 to 4 inches and use a flat scraper to pop it off--it uses metal clips and they will take more force than you think to come off. Have fun and let us know if you have any questions.

angle the ends downward so they overlap, just like the factory did it. check how yours overlap before removing them. mark center on both the felt and the body/slider panel so the ends are in the same place on each side.
