Will 993 Axles fit a 911 Hub?

I'm doing a special adaption with a mix of parts, and have some questions.

Will the stub axle splines on a 993/996 axle fit the late (85-89) 911 wheel hubs? Are the lengths of the splines and threaded section the same (will they bolt to the hub)? How about the overall length of the axles; are they the same, longer, or shorter? Also, are the CV's the same 108mm? I'm only trying to determine the differences (If any), and not a complete interchange. For example, I know there's an ABS reluctor ring, but that won't matter in my case.

I appreciate any info, or links to any info that would help answer my questions.

Thanks,

AJS
