Slight OT: Air tools (for the 911)

I thought here was a good place to ask...

I bought a 30 gal "big mamma" compressor from Kobalt with an assortment of airtools - on sale.... They all work pretty well, impact wrench, lug remover, tire pressure stuff.... Except the one that looks like a little airgun with a small nozzle....

The tanks takes 140 PSI (or is it 125? can't remember for sure) and you can set output to tools at 40 or 90 or more if you want...

I have it set a 100 PSI, and the airgun produces a pitiful stream of air that is barely good enough to dry my sweaty face ! Is it the tool that is bad, should I get another nozzle (there are 3, all equally pitiful), I expected the airgun thing to help me blast crap outside of the garage. As it is it can barely move a drop of water.... What am I doing wrong (again) ? ;-)

The fact that is can inflate tires with ease and operate the stronger tools makes me suspect the little airgun is either not designed to blow stuff away or defective....

Thx !!

Sounds like the airgun is defective. Check for restrictions in the connecter or just get a replacement. You SHOULD be able to clean the dirt off the driveway with one of those.

Make sure your pressure stays high when you are trying to use it. If you have a tool that sucks enough air out at a high enough rate(high CFM use), your pressure will drop and you'll get the same effect. If that is the case, then it is not the tool being clogged but your compressor being too small to operate the given tool for much time.

Can you unscrew the tip and retry? Perhaps a full OSHA-approved air gun that eliminates all hazards.

Some air tools have an adjustable air valve at the base of the handle. Doubtful on an air gun but check anyway. Aslo, please dont test by aiming at your face.
