Pedal upgrades

I figure one of you Porsche "tuners" has changed to a aftermarket pedal set. I have seen one from AJ USA and I wanted to know if anyone has tried a set. I do want to add a dead pedal since my carpeting is wearing in that area.

I bought a set from Performance Products when I first bought my car for about $180. They looks nice but are starting to wear where my foot slides from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. Other than that they look very nice.

Does anyone know if they make a Dead pedal for Targas?
The only ones I ever see are for coupes.

The Coupe dead pedal should work for a Targa, Leland...although I could be wrong. I have not installed one in my Targa yet.

I would like to see pedal replacements installed...I know PP has them, but how do they look installed?

Beware of the Targa footwell.

I've heard (I can't for the life of me remember where) that the Targa footwells are approximately 1 1/2 inches narrower than the Coupe ones.

This is probably to add a bit more stiffness to the Targa under-tray.

So that may be the reason the footrests are advertised for the Coupes only...

I installed the AJUsa racing pedals and they are terrific...unless your shoes are wet. Then they become VERY slippery (no rubber pads). Otherwise, they work well, especially the neat hinge on the go pedal.

Mark, I really like the way the pedals look in my car... it kinda brightens up the foot well area I think. In hindsight, I don't know if they were worth almost 200 bucks though...ahh, my younger days...
I do think a dead pedal would save my carpet from some amount of abuse. All of the ones I have seen advertised are specifically for coupes. And yes, the footwell area on a targa is smaller than a coupe...but that still doesn't explain why no one makes a dead pedal for targas...
