Valve adjustment

I have a 1971 911T, 2.2 Lt. (75,000 miles) Can anyone tell me how long it should take a mechanic to adjust the valves.??? I have been told that if you drop the engine down approx. 2'' it makes the job a lot easer.????
Thanx in advance. D...

In my limited experience with '70 2.2 and '78 3.0 911s, dropping the engine two inches would just make it more difficult to do the intakes. If a shop is telling you this, I think I'd go somewhere else.

I've heard that there are some issues with 964s that require screwing with the engine mounting to gain space for valve adjustment, and whoever told you that may be thinking about a later car.
