labor to replace engine .
What do you guys think I should be charged to take out my 3.2 89 engine and replace it with same . Maybe a new clutch .
labor charge and other expenses . thanks in advance |
Can't speak to the rates cause you don't say where you are. Time-wise, it should take about 3 hours for removal and 3 more to install. That is engine and tranny together. Add time to split the two apart and re-do the clutch. You might need to resurface the flywheel which is another $100 bucks and new bolts for the flywheel. The clutch kit is another few hundred.
Count on at least six hours for R & R at your mechanics rate plus the other goodies and thats your price. |
To R&R engine booktime, 6-8 hours. Actual 4.
Clutch replacement 1 hour Parts...inner cv bolts, inner cv gaskets, clutch assy, flywheel (resurface or replacement), clutch cable, oil change, belts |
Tony - Where you getting those clutch kits for a "few hundred"??
|
I just checked sach's kits on ebay and see buy it now's for just over $300. He may not need the whole thing, so I probably didn't word that properly.

I'll be the first to say it: do it yourself! It's fun, rewarding, a great excuse to drink beer, and you may even meet some local Pelicans.
