I'm driving a car to LA from the SF Bay area. Any Pelicans wanna meet?
This will occur this Fri, 9/22 and I'll probably make this a two day'r since vacations seem to be non existent in my life. My route is as of yet, undetermined.
Any ideas from anyone along the way? I'll wait to see what is posted before I even think of where I might land Fri night. Oh, what am I driving? Well..........come out and see! I'll bring a camera and document the trip on a new thread and introduce the new Zekespeed! |

Milt-
I'm around this weekend, and I think Vash (Cliff) and I will be working on both of our 911s at my place on Sunday. You're welcome to stop by for a beer and barbecue. Saturday is booked for the wife's birthday. As far as things to do along the way, if you take the 101 instead of the 5 there's plenty of cool stops along the way (Santa Barbara wineries, Hearst Castle, Big Sur, and the recently repaired highway 1 through Montara and Pacifica). |

Thanks for the invite, I'd like to meet you and Cliff (I've done a little business with Cliff and he's a great guy!) However, I'll probably be home by Sat nite unless I'm having too good of a time!
![]() AFA the usual tourist stuff, BTDT as a life long CA resident and an older one at that. Thanks for the tip on the completed construction, though. That's the kind of stuff that will help me navigate a successful and fun trip. I had planned to stay on or close to the 101. No I-5 this time around. I'm crusin' ![]() |

Milt,
I will be leaving here on Thursday and heading down to SLO for a long weekend, 101 for me too. While I won't be up here to get together, maybe you'd want to stop along the drive for a cold one or something? I am planning on checking out the wine country around Paso area on Friday, but plans are not cemented yet..... I'll PM you my cell phone info etc. just in case ![]() Have a fun and safe drive no matter what. -Chris

Milt,
Let me know what time you plan on coming through the SB area. I could break free from my day for a little if you want to stop that early into your drive.

Milt,
Too bad, I wish I going to be home. I would certaintly have meet up with you. I fly back into San Jose this Saturday evening from Burlington, VT. Maybe I'll be able to meet you next time you come through. I live right off of Rt1 just east (north) of Monterey. -Matt

Yes, but Milt will be starting out from up there so people can meet him while he's there (before he leaves for the trip south).

Well, not for long. I'll probably clear the San Jose city limits by noon on Fri. I'm looking for the open road and a couple of pit stops. Always happy to pull up to talk to an enthusiast, but the point is to drive the car and drive it home, enjoying the ride all the way. It would be great to pick up another car or two for a few miles and a quick stop for pics, gas, food, etc.
Let me know. There's still all day Saturday. |

I'll probably be around Atascadero on Friday morning which sounds like the time that you'll be going through.I have to work on Saturday 0700- 1900.

I saw this thread too late. I would've suggested stopping in Atascadero to meet Gabe and Robin at Strasse. They're nice people.
