77' 911S gauge problem
Hey guys needs some imput.
every once and a while the 1st 2 gauges on my 77' 911S will fog up like crazy. It is a non-AC Targa and it is the fuel/oil level and the oil tank level/temp gauge that are the culprits. Is this something I should be concerned about or just let it go and be thankful I do not have larger problems. thanks in advance, Chris ![]() |

cfarmer,
I have read that this happens to a lot of cars. Someone suggested drilling two small holes in the back of the gauge and using a hair dryer to air it out.

cfarmer,
I get the same situation with the oil temp/pressure gauge on my 75S, on occassion. Usually it's comes on an especially damp morning, or when my slightly damp car cover is in the trunk. I think it is typical of our cars as the trunk area isn't air tight, and the back of the gauges may not be either. The "fog" usually disappears after driving awhile. Like you said, if you're going to have a problem, this is one to have!

Typical condition, don't let it bother you.
fog up like crazy Mine is just once in a while, and just a little bit.

Turn the running lights on and crank up the brightness on the gauges. No? Then I'll go sit down.
