Orange wurth solvent/cleaner and sound deadening mat'l removal
I am stripping the interior in my 911 and I read in Pano that you can spray this orange wurth stuff to dissolve the old glue underneath the seats. Does anybody know where I can buy or order this stuff? Has anybody had any experience with this?
Also, any quick and efficient ways to remove the sound deadening material. Thanks for the help! |

Go to www.wurth.com. Find your nearest distributor and buy direct. I found their Stonkote undercoating to be excellent. In Florida they have a next day flat fee delivery charge of $4.

I hear small rodents do the trick.

The old hammer and wide scraper or chisel will do the trick. If you're in a cold climate the job is usually easier. Good luck with it.

Go to Car Care Specialties. http://www.carcareonline.com Larry Reynolds sells all the Wurth stuff, plus lots of other products. He's also very helpful in sharing his knowledge of what products work best for what application.

Thanks for the replies. Speaking of colder climates, has anyone heard about using dry ice to make the job easier? And where do you get dry ice?

The job is significantly easier when the temperature of the coating is cold. I'm not sure if dry ice will do it but the cold is definitely an advantage.

I scraped the old glue off with a wire brush when replacing the engine compartment sound pad. It didn't scratch the paint as much as I expected. Hardly at all. It was cool, not warm. I suspect that rubbing dry ice on it might make it scrape off really easy. It might just crackle right off. You can get dry ice at grocery stores, but you might have to order in advance.
