Pre-flight check list for Porsche drives
I had a great drive thru MtZion National park in my SC today, smooth easy speeds of 90mph thru scenic twisties leaving all others far behind but I had some concerns of the safety of my car such as are my lugs properly torqued, CV joints secure etc.
I was wondering if there was a checklist available such as used before events such as DE or Auto X events much like a pilot inspection checklist that you could print out and utilize for a safety check before you leave along with what specifically to look for, other than most obvious tire pressures, oil levels etc. [This message has been edited by jryerson (edited 05-27-2000).] |

Well, as a pilot for the airlines, We do have many check lists. Many times we customize notes that go along with them for our own personal use. They usually are keying reminders for items we don't want to froget that the individual feels are most important.
It sounds like you have a good feel for those things that are important to know. If you don't find a checklist, I suggest you write your own. Just remember to pass it along if you do. Maybe other people will update it and you could have something great on your hands. Good luck. |

Sounds like a great idea to me too. Basic fluid checks and tire pressure are no-brainers but there are lots of little things easy to forget. The tech article here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/911_speed_prep/914_speed_prep.htm
has good general info about getting your car ready for high-speed/track use, but not really a checklist. |
