Exhaust gasket

I put my cat back on, and I have an exhaust leak on the engine side of the cat. I had issues with getting the gaskets to stay in place. What can I use that is slightly sticky to hold the gasket in place long enough to get the cat in place?

There are threads to search on this topic. Some good discussion. Double gaskets, etc.

The one I went away with was to get the cheap $5 muffler mender in a tube and put some on both sides of the gasket. Helps stick the gasket on and can seal small leaks.

Who needs a gasket? Blew mine out about 6 months ago...sounds so good I havent the heart to replace it.

I've used small dabs of vaseline before. Burns off when you're done.

My original cat leaks too. Fabspeed SS Euro Pre Muffler (um - fancy test pipe) no issues.
