A/C Question (72 911S Targa)
I am actually in the process of looking at/purchasing a '72 911S Targa. Stupid me forget to check if it has A/C; something that will be rectified tommorow with a quick inquiry to the seller. However, under the assumption that the car does not have A/C, how hard/expensive would it be to install (not by me but by a Porsche Specialist shop)?

The inexpensive part would be locating a complete used system (hoses, condensors, compressor, etc.). A lot of guys want to chuck their whole system when they start to modify the older cars for track purposes. The expensive part, of course, is your Porsche factory-trained technician's time -- and the cost of the older freon, if you don't convert to the new stuff.

Probably be a lot easier if you just popped off the targa top when it gets warm. That's what they're there for, and it makes driving all the more fun. Enjoy.
