Silicon Valve Cover Gaskets?
Has anyone heard of silicon valve cover gaskets? They are supposed to be a little thicker than OE and they are warranted for life. They promise to stop just about any leak from the valve cover and are reusable for life. Sounds good any advice or comments?

Well, Automotion has been selling them for over six months, since I first noticed them, and I have been waiting for some feedback from Bruce Anderson in Excellence magazine.
Priced like Ruf products, they have the audacity to charge an extra $5.98 on top of the already STEEP price tag of $69.98, for the 'hardware set' always included in the usual $16-$20 set with the green silicone bead I have found to have no leaks with the aluminum, reinforced 'turbo' exhaust valve covers. Maybe I'll get a set if my turbo covers start dripping!!! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa [This message has been edited by Early_S_Man (edited 05-27-2000).] |

Mike,
I installed them on my car about 3 months ago they have not leaked at all. I have not done another valve adjustment, but they look like they should come out and be reused with out any trouble. Ed |
