Porsche parts or BERu/Bosch and others?

How important do you feel/think it is to have Porsche branded parts in your car?

I ask this for two reasons 1) are the Porsche parts better 2) Am I hurting my resale value if i put in Bosch or other manufacturers?

I know the Porsche parts are more expensive...we don't need to go there, but is the quality of the Bosch (and others) products equate that of Porsche products? Are you simply paying for the name?

Mark, Many "Porsche" parts are Bosch and Beru. That said, "OEM" parts may not be made to tolerances and with the same quality material as a Porsche branded counterpart. (Does that make sense?)

Regarding value and aftermarket: IMO the value depends on the reputation of the manufacturer.

Also, OEM

Don't Bosch, Mann, Porsche all get their filters from the same source? And then stamp the names on them later? I’m talking oil, fuel, air filters

I don't belive this to be the case. AFAIK Mann makes there own filter, from media to casing. There's also Mahle to throw into the mix.
