question on installing clock.

I just bought a clock from Pellican classified. Looked in the hole for clock and squirl my hand around but find nothing. I need a + wire to keep the clock on all the time. I know that I can hook it to the big red wire in the ignition column but I want to ask here first to see if there is a better way.
Is there any better wire then the big red under the steering column?

Which is the best path way for wire to come from the kick panel to indash (behind the clock)? Actually, I have been laying under there several time but don't know away yet.

Thanks.

What makes you think the factory wiring isn't still there?

The power wire is Black and part of the interior lighting circuit that runs to glove box and luggage compartment, is fused at 5 Amps, and always hot. Look from inside trunk for the wire from the glove box lamp and switch.

The Brown ground wire should be part of the instruments common ground multiple.

The Black/Blue dimmer illumination wire is part of the instruments common power multiple from the light switch.

Early S Man,
I couldn't find it. I finally get the power directly from the batery, run around the trunk AC unit and to the upper dash. Good thing for doing this is that I got my trunk light working now yehaa. Took me several hours and finally... the used clock I bought doesn't work correctly :(
