Houston PPI

Hi Guys,

I just sold my 74 S and am looking at an 88 Carrera in the Houston area. Can anyone give me a name of a good shop that will do a thorough PPI on the 88.

Thanks !

There are several. You could do a search for PPI and houston, or tell us where approx in town the car is. This is a big place and we could end up recommending stuff that's an hour away.

Eurocar Werk at 713-661-6428. Are you buying from Victory Motors?

Yes Ulrich it is Victory. Wanting to check out the Marine Blue 88 coupe. Someone had a PPI done at a place called Koby Motors. They faxed me the report, Not Impressed. Minimal inspection, lousy report details. I need someone to do the full monty on this car.

For MASraum...They are located at 3912 Ace St in Houston. Thats all I know.

Garage
Like any used car shop, Victory has good cars and not so goods. There's a link here on them. Another shop for PPI is the Swiss Garage.

Swiss Garage is about the closest to Victory as you can get. Also try SC Repair but he's pretty busy.

Swiss Garage just changed owners and they now work on all import makes. Not sure if the old mechanics are still working there but may want to call first.

Do a search on victory motorcars. There are 2 or 3 threads here on them. Not all bad, but caveat emptor.

Good to know, I do most of my own work so I don't deal very much with shops.

My favorite mechanic in town is Terry Lawell at Lawell Motorsports. I don't think he's too far from Victory so that's another choice. I've never talked to him about PPI's but I know he'd like to get some more regular work to suppliment the hardcore jobs he gets. BTW, Terry's got a super high HP 996TT, so he's a Porsche guy.

Eurocar werk does not do PPI's on cars leaving the state. Go figure, what's up with that?

Swiss Garage, Yes, but reluctant to do a leak down "unless you really want it" Hmmmm.

Lawell Motorsports, Yes. Gotta tell em what you want.

Summary...None of the shops above have a "Standard PPI" checklist that would inclue the kinds of things a long distance buyer would want to know about the car is is about to buy Sight-Unseen. I will provide the list.

Different people want different things. I think there's a PPI checklist on Pelican somewhere.
