beagle911,

Almost an exact duplicate of my 89 Targa, including the stongard in front of the rear fenders. I currently have a carrera tail but I want to eventually put on a turbo tail. Did you mount it yourself? And if you did, any problems?

DW, mounting the tail was not a big deal. Makes life easier by having a extra set of hands. Just measure twice, drill once when
marking out the mounting holes.

Leland: We're in the same boat...but I haven't had my car in 5 weeks. I *did* get to drive it yesterday, though

Don't worry, when you get it back, it'll be so much the better (that's what I keep telling myself)

Hey guys,

Has anyone ever seen a later model Targa (85 in my case) with a early RS "ducktail" spoiler on it?
If so, how did it look? Not really into the bigger spoiler if driving here in the states where we cannot cruise at 120+ but like the smaller spoiler.

Thx...

Well, you *can* do high speed cruising, you just risk law enforcement personnel frowning on your activities. On a recent trip from Cincinnati to Columbus, there was little enough traffic at the time to let me do 120-140 at points. I slowed to 100 or less when passing traffic, but the car was rock solid the whole way I'll also point out that I'd do this only on a freeway - my car has a Turbo tail, but no front Turbo air dam. Damn.

I saw a picture of a Targa with a ducktail once. It looked OK. Out of all the possibilities I think I like the Carerra tail the best. Anyone want to trade a black OEM Turbo tail for a black OEM Carerra tail?

I currently have a read carrera tail. Since I didn't put it on myself, I don't know if its OEM; however, the rubber piece has the Porsche logo on the bottom. I'd like to trade but my rubber piece is slightly bent upwards on the left side, making it look slightly askewed. That plus the painting.
