Loose Fog Lamp 83 SC

Does anyone know how to tighten a fog lamp on a 83 SC? I tried unscrewing the two bolts to see if I could remove the panel that holds the connecting rod that attaches the lamp to the car. The panel does not want to come off. The connecting rod (which is threaded on the car end) seems to be unscrewing itself and it does not have anything on the lamp end that I can get a spanner onto.

I think something has come loose inside the car body and would guess that tightening the two bolts would work but they just spin and have stopped gripping.

Any advice? Hopefully I am missing something really simple.

On an SC, you should be able to access anything you need to tighten up the mounts by reaching under and then behind the valence that the fogs are attatched to.

look up in/behind valence - there is 1 big nut that holds the assembly to the valence - i think. tightening that nut worked to firm up a wobbly/spinning lamp on mine.
