Wheel question

I currently have 8s on the rear. If I went to 9s would I then need to have the car set up differently or is it just "plug and play?" What about putting spacers in the rear? Would this accomplish the same thing (better look and handling)? Once again, would I need to set the car up differently with spacers?

Might help to know what car/year you are talking about as well as wheel diameter.

assuming 16 x 8 fuchs to 16 x 9 fuchs - no, would not make much difference.

So, your finished project would have 16 x 7's in the front and 16 x 9's in the rear (you can not move your 8's to the front unless you have 951 8's, btw)

Why bother, unless you are getting into race tires, the 8's would be sufficient for 245/45 tires.

But if you do, please let me know if you decide to sell the 16x8s! I really want a pair...

I figured they would fill the wheel well better. Should I just use spacers?

If you want to fill, spacers are the way to go. I have H&Rs, the kind that come with longer studs that you'll need to press in (DRS series).

I can't remember the width, I'll have to measure them. I'm running 225s, so if you have 245s, you'll need to consider the extra rubber in your choice of widths so that they don't rub.

They shouldn't cost you much more than ~$150 for the pair with studs included.

9s should plug and play.

Many threads on spacers for your plans. In short, 911 8s with 245/45 can be pushed out max with 21mm spacers. You'll need 65-67mm studs. Search RoyB's post.

The spacers with push the 8s out more than actually 9s.

More negative camber will help avoid rub. I have -2.4 in the rears.

Buy the 928 21mm spacers from our host and 10 new studs... I know since I just did all this...
