PORSCHE "positive" body decals
Anyone any suggestions where I might be able to obtain a pair of (black) PORSCHE
"positive" side scripts as used on some early 911s such as the 911R? I think either Tweeks or Performance Products offer the "negative" version but I can't seem to find anyone selling the type I want. Andy '69 911E |

At one time Stoddard's used to carry practically all of the factory graphics, but that was back in the mid-80's. I don't have a recent catalog. Vasek-Polak used to have a bunch of the factory racing-related material, also.

None of the usual suppliers stock these any more. Has anyone out there got an early 911 or 912 with the positive 'PORSCHE' side stripes that could take some measurements off them so that I can get some made up ?

You might call Heath at Arizona Auto Trim. He does a lot of Porsche related racing graphics. His number is 480-632-8800. Sorry, but I don't believe that he has an e-mail address.

Andy, Are you referring to the side markings as shown on a 911R on page 9 of the 2nd edition of Bruce Anderson's 'Porsche 911 Performance Handbook' ... or the similar lettering for the rear deck lid?

As long as you have an accurate rendition of the lettering, be it negative or positive, any qualified lettering shop should be able to scan and manipulate the image and produce lettering the size you want die cut from self adhesive vinyl. They do this for most custom made lettering for business's. Worth a shot if the $$$originals$$$ can't be found. You could try a business called Doc and Cy's also, (try web search). If they don't have it they could possible point you in the right direction. Best of luck, Michael

Andy,
Is the style you are looking for the one on the 911R shown at the following URL? http://www.toadhallracing.com/toad-062.html If so, the p.n. is 901.559.319.61 for the left side, black; 901.559.320.61 -- right side, black. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

Thanks for your replies.
Yes, Warren that's the style I'm after. I have managed to find a supplier(GT Racing)& it's started a whole new train of thought about a 911R look-alike... I feel a new project looming... Andy(UK) '69 911E |
