ventilation blower ?

I'm looking to troubleshoot my ventilation blower and I'm looking to locate the relay. The wiring diagram shows it near the directionals up front on the passenger side but I'm not seeing anything. Is it under the dash or on the firewall somewhere up front?

Also, whats the best way to access the blower in order to test it with 12V?

ventilation blower

Joe, My parts catalog doesn't show a relay for the '69. I found a relay listed for the '68 though. In '69 Porsche changed the ventilation system. I've just taken mine all apart to troubleshoot. My blower wasn't working in the medium and high settings. To remover the blower, remove the wire mesh on your fresh air inlet on the cowl. You will find 2 more screws that go into the blower unit. Remove these. Next remove the left and right clamps/hoses to the blower unit. Last remove the water drain hose. There is also a cable that goes from your dash controls to the blower diverter valves. Remove this. She should come out. On the back side is the 4 prong plug. Remove this. Connect a 12 volt battery to the prongs. You will have to experiment here since I didn't have a wiring diagram, but connecting the battery to two of the corner prongs gave me a high fan speed. The blower worked so I went to the dash controls. Here I found the problem. When the blower speed lever is moved the the right it makes 3 contacts for low, medium and high. I found that some plastic had melted a bit around the "high" contact. I scrapped it away, the then slightly bent the contact downwared so it would make good connection. Hope this helps

Well, I got the blower out and it tested OK both at the motor and at each of the contacts for low medium and high. I guess the next thing to check is see if the contacts are being made at the control head.....

Anyone else w/ suggestions after this?
