Webasto reincarnation

Hey guys. I'm trying to get the Webasto in my '66 going. I pulled the fuel pump and cleaned the brushes and flushed the pump - when I apply 12 volts to it, it pumps fine. I also pulled off the top of the blower housing and hosed that down with electrical contact cleaner. My problem is that the blower goes, but the fuel pump is not being triggered. Any suggestions what to try next?

Not sure but I believe they had a safety cutoff of some type that keeps the pump from running Be Careful those things work great but are dangerous

I did a search and couldn't come up with anything short of pulling it out, but I wouldn't even know where to go from there.

Is the fuel pump getting voltage? Are you talking about the fuel pump under the front cowling or the air/fuel pump in the smuggler's box? The fuel pump with metering device under the front cowl performs about 1 stroke (click) every 2-4 seconds when working properly. If it's getting voltage, but not clicking the pump is either shot or the jet in the metering chamber is clogged--it clogs very easily--remove and blow out with compressed air.

Search the threads, there are a number of posts on this issue. There's a Pelican who's an expert with these things, can't remember his name but I do remember he likes them and defends them.

Personally, I think it's a Molotov cocktail waiting to happen.

Regards,
