After a driver's ed event last weekend at Pocono, I was cleaning the car (1987 Carrera coupe) and noticed that the windshield rubber no longer covered the upper corners of the metal. The edge of the rubber now sits in the track. I have already made the appointment to have the windshield reinstalled but my curiosity is getting the better of me. Does the rubber shrink over time? I know that the car was painted two or three years ago. Maybe the reinstall at the body shop was not perfect at the force of 110+ mph caused this? I would like to think that I was going so fast that the wind pushed the roof back 5mm, but that clearly did not happen. Any thoughts?

You might want to have the window installed with alittle "dumb dumb". It's a thick rubber compound that fills in where the rubber seals wants to fold in around the corners. It's used in addition to the seal.
