Whats the difference between H4's & H1's

I have H4's on my 79 SC. I have seen people refering to H1's in other posts and the huge cost. what is the difference between the 2? Pazz 79 SC Targa

Both use a similar front lens and trim ring that looks so much better than the sealed-beam US fixtures! However, the H1 assembly uses separate bulbs and adjusting assemblies for low and high beams, so a bit more 'customization' is possible with the H1 assembly. Current price levels make little sense, though. Not quite as insane as $550 Ford Taurus headlamp assemblies with no particular salient features, but close! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa [This message has been edited by Early_S_Man (edited 06-12-2000).]

If you're interested in your headlights, you might want to take a look at an FAQ (I've personally never visited them, but if you care...) http://lighting.mbz.org/faq/ Also, I just got some H 4s for my 944 at $26 a piece from http://www.jcwhitney.com/product.jhtml?CATID=5142 Great source for a lot of things, I just got some aluminum foldable chairs for a future auto-x at $5 a piece! Their home page is at: http://www.jcwhitney.com Definately worth a look, good luck, Ahmet
