Estimated Speeds????

What is the estimated top speed for a 77 911s with a 2.7?

I am in the prairies of Canada so I do get opportunities to check it out.

I ask because my car goes to 200km/hr pretty easy but it is slow from there up, a steady climb till around 230km/hr or so?

Is this normal, and to get more speed do I need to start modifying?

Shawn

This is from the 911 FAQ:

Quote:
1977

Cars fitted with extra air pump, twin thermal reactors and exhaust
recirculation. Improved gear box.

RECOGNITION TIPS:

Headlight washer is of the stick-up variety between 1976 and 1979.

OPTIONS:
sportomatic transmission, 5-speed transmission, center console
The FAQ also says that the car has 165 HP and has a top speed of 144MPH.

Let us know.

No Shawn is though.

Mine hits about 120 mph in forth quickly but in fifth it starts letting up. I've had it to 135-140@ about 5400 rpm and it didn't have much left.

My car has SSI's 9:1 compression ported/polished heads and other minor mods. Couldn't say how accurate my spedo is though.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Gary here in Alberta we get the 110km/hr zones so.......lol

BTW the funny thing is that I am applying to become a cop, so everyone wish me luck, at least then we will have at least one "understanding" cop out there.

Also Gary your car seems to have more pep than mine, your exhaust and minor mods seem well worth it.

Ther other day I was in a line of about eight cars. We were not going "fast" but we were going a speed that COULD have resulted in a ticket. Cops usually pick on the car in the rear, and that was me. The other cars were all SUV and vans following at well under 2 car lengths. I was at my usually 8 to 10 car lengths. A ticket in my name would have been an injustice, IMHO.
