Can cracks in the rear PORSCHE reflector be repaired?

Possibly from putting down the engine lid too vigorously (not in anger, mind you) and just all around age and bumping over poor L.A. roads, have left a nice vertical crack in the center of my rear reflector. So the question is can cracks be repaired on the reflectors, or am I simply SOL?

Sorry, no camera available, so no pics.

If you can pry it open a bit, use model cement, you kow, the kind you used to use on plastic kits. Has a lot of tolulene in it which desolves the plastic and fuses it together. So, the cement is not really a glue. I think you would have to have the part laid flat and very carefully tape off nearby. Since it fuses the plastic, the joint can be polished. Never done this, just speculating.

I have done this on lenses. it works and if done right creates an ivisible repair.

sand the cracked area with 1000 grit wet sandpaper and buff.

looks great.

I used SuperGlue for my rear tail lights and it worked flawlessly except for my fingers getting stuck together for awhile. What have you got to lose, try it, if it doesn't work, you are no worse off.
