Hood Emblem
Found a huge gash on my hood emblem the other day. Got a new OEM one today and tried to take the old one off. Can't seem to get a hex-nut socket around the old one's bolts, is there a special tool that's needed?
Thanks in advance ------------------ DW 89 Targa |

It's not threaded but it does screw on. Sounds crazy but true. Try a vice-grip with minimal pressure and manipulate a little before attempting to remove the nuts. Should do the trick.

Try the needle nose version. I'll do it tonight and let you know.

I think a 3/16 nut driver will do the job for you without any problem.

It's two 8 mm nuts. Be careful not to drop them in the doble wall area. Don't ask...

Yeah, I was thinking about that problem myself. Might have to put a little bit of tape around the socket to secure the nut.

What worked for the 2nd screw was putting a glob of grease on the socket to hold the screw.
