Installed oil cooler scoop...how to rewire lights?
I have the oil cooler scoop on my car (passenger side, obviously), and that part takes the place of the running light on that side of the car. The other side still has the running light and the turn signal, so when the lights are on, the passenger side looks as if there is a light out.
I KNOW i saw a DIY article on how to rewire the turn signals so that they become the parking/running and turn signal lights, thereby eliminating the "burned out bulb" look. With this mod, both turn signals should come on with the lights (solid), and then blink when the blinkers are on. Anyone know where to find this DIY, or just know how to do the mod? TIA! Drew

Bumping this back up to the top as I am having the same issue. I disconnected the wiring to the running light as per the tech article, however, it still looks as if I have a burned out bulb.
Thanks much, JP

Dan Stern's web site desrcibes this generically..... I did this when I moved the front TS lens to the side..and used THAT light ( with the rear-mounted electrical tabs...) to power a small button lamp in the ( now open) front facing hole.
Result?....more air for the oil cooler...and the "switched" positions of the front and side lights allow both to operate as blinkers. I think I posted something along these lines before. You need to fab a small wire harness that goes "inside" the relocated TS ass'ly ( now on the side). Easy to do if you follow the Stern recommendations and can follow the Porsche wiring schematic. I was going to post the mod but I can't upload pics and I also can't locate ( ! ) the new wiring harness schematic that would be necessary to make the thread worthwhile. - Wil

Thanks Wil. I found the Stern lighting webpage and think I understand that mod. I guess, I was just wondering if the wires could be grounded somehow to complete the circuit without the use of the parking light.
