Parking brake cable removal

Hi All,

I have removed my rear trailing arm to change my wheel bearing but cannot remove the handbrake cable from the arm. I have detched the little arm that works on the brake shoes but there is a white plastic insert in the sleeve that passes through the trailing arm and the cable end will not pass through this. I can't get the cable past it and have tried for hours. Has anybody got any suggestions. I assume it doesn't have to be removed from the cabin end first??? My car is an 85 turbo bodied 3.2 carrera. i.e. it has the turbo running gear etc Any help much appreciated, cheers

Kristian
