It's a TDC sensor. I've not seen the diagnostic tool that plugs into the plug near the idle control valve. But I do know that's what the sensor is for.

So, what tool can I use (off label?) to check TDC using that arcane lil' sensor? I kinda want to give it a try. That'd make me happier than having an unused part / sensor on my engine.

I used a cheap DSO scope and you can see a TDC signal. That’s it.

Which is why I deleted the sensor/wiring/plug while rebuilding the motor.

It all adds up:D
