yet another caliper rebuild question
I am rebuilding the calipers on my 70t. they pistons were so frozen up that i couldnt get them out with compressed air. so i took the two halfs apart and, lets just say i got them out. i rebuilt the piston seals, but since i had to take them apart i need to get new small orings that go between the two halfs, i want to do it right rather than try to match them up because the last thing i want is to get them all reinstalled and have them leaking. im putting an order together (on pelican of course) and i cant seem to find them. could someone point me in the right direction if they are offered by our host, or give me some suggestions if they arent available here. thanks

Brian,
Call Pelican. If they can't get them they can probably tell you who can. I don't think they have every thing on the website. In the future, if compressed air won't work put the caliper back on the brake line and use the pedal pressure to get the pistons out. Splitting them should be your last resort. |
I've got some from a rear caliper rebuild kit that I bought. I didn't use them because I didn't crack the calipers open.
I guess I could post em to you. Phil |
well pelican doesnt offer the orings, i asked. i need the orings for the fronts and the rears. i guess ill have to match them up and home they dont leak.
