I was freakin yankin in and out of traffic today.....awesome.

Just kidding....

Any feedback on magnecor wires? Will there be a noticeable difference in throttle response using these? Just curious.

I'll be changing my engine and tranny mounts next week replacing them with the sport motor mounts. I called Pelican to find out the difference between the Meistersatz brand as compared to the freudenberg and response was that they were practically similar. $40 difference each.

Any one use these?

I just installed Magnicore wires on my SC. It was a night and day diff. I must also add that my old wires were the origional ones. 24+years of service had left them in a poor condition. My comparrison might not be the best because of my situation but I would buy them again.
I also just replaced my mounts with the "sport mounts" I will go with the wevo's next time.

3 years ago, I went from stock to Magenecors, noticed a difference right away, but I'm like Rick, my stock were original to the car. a month ago I swapped out Magnecors for the Clewett ones our host sells, I noticed no difference between those two.

Save yourself the bucks.

As others have offered, you will only feel a dramatic difference if the old wires were leaking, cross firing or had excessive resistance. When compared to otherwise good wires, Magnacors (or any other wire) will provide zero difference. However, there is a discernible difference if the wires are red or other bright color.

You can't get the fire in the engine to be "more burnt" then burnt. Either it lights off or it doesn't. Timing, swirl and squish are the only real modifiers to speed and completeness of combustion and wires can't change it. If you are missing even 1 in 50 times it will make a noticeable difference though. Putting new stock wires in would do the same thing.

That being said I have Magnecor 10mm wires on my car and I like them very much. The silicone hasn't discolored, shown wear, or degraded anywhere in the last couple years and they cost quite a bit less then the stock wires.

I think the key to a good wire is quality materials that will give you a long life and proper installation with dielectric grease between the boots and wires, between the boots and cap, and between the boots and plugs. This should give you an installation that will nearly run under water. (unlike some stories that I have heard about how 911s are hard to run in wet conditions)

Zeke,
I didn't aim my sarcasm to be any thicker than normal.

"However, there is a discernible difference if the wires are red or other bright color."

..... only meant there is a difference, and it's visually.

By the way, my now dull, once brighter orange, stainless steel core wires have lived on my engine longer than my oldest offspring (18 years). I should take a peek at the light show in my darkened garage sometime though.

...in that case, you guys should go and try the "Magnicores". they're easily 2hp over the 'other ones'.

I replaced sport mounts (cracked one) with sport mounts. They felt great all summer long but I can feel them starting to allow too much movement(for my liking)
And yes I replaced all 4 before someone asks. Ok now Ya'll get back to your Yanking

OK - back to the subject. How does one determine if the plug wires are original from the factory?
