valve cover gasket emergency fix?
i just discovered a ruined gasket on my type 1 vw powered 550 spyder. everything is closed on a saturday afternoon around here. i can't find any sheet cork or high temp rubber to fab a replacement from . how about 1/8" thick leather? any idea if that would work to get me 20 to 30 miles to my friends shop? any opinions are welcome, including those that begin or end with "you dope".
