Where can I find one
Hi guys,
Well, the 88 911 Carrera I bought from Victory Motors turns out to have a locking lug set on it. Of course there is no wrench anywhere in the car so I need some help. Below are a couple of close-ups of the nut. The best way to describe it is "round with three flats milled at even spacing. Anyone know who mfg's. these and where I might find a wrench? I've done some internet checking but no luck so far. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1159639850.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1159639871.jpg |
the shape of the flats and their placement is fairly unique. Contacting Mcgard locks will do no good without a very accurate tracing of the shape, and then seeing if they respond with a few choices. Contact some wheel shops in your area. There is a lock removal kit, which consists of tapered hardened smooth sockets , that they can hammer onto the lock nut, then remove them. If that does not work, find a good TIG weldor that can spot face the end of the lock nut, weld on a bolt and back it off.
There is no way using a chisel ; you would damage the rims good luck |
I wonder if one of those gator - 1 size fits all sockets, with the pins inside would work.

good idea to try if the outer dimension of the socket is not too large

Contact the PO?
Good luck... Paul. |
