915-61 gearbox problems on a 77 911S
When I shifr into 1st or 2nd & try to start from a stand still my car fells like its jumping and shaking almost as if it wants to rip up my rear and apart but if I do the same in reverse d car car behaves perfestly normal, I need some clues int solving my problem. I know its not d clutch cause U can clearly feel it sticking and holding So Other suggestions would be of value
Thanx FMD SS 77 911S 2.7 K-Jet Its Not a lot But its MINE |

You say it is not the clutch ... well, I say it is, more specifically, the bowden tube, and too little preload on it!

The chances are about 9:1 that it is the Bowden tube, but loose/broken/oil-softened motor/trans. mounts can cause the problem, too, especially if it has had a recent clutch/crank seal replacement by a novice mechanic. There are wrenches working at VW and Porsche dealerships that specialize in the water-cooled cars that don't even have a clue where to start on this problem ... which I call the Bunny-Hop Syndrome!!! VW Beetles do the very same thing ... for the very same reasons!!!
