There's a piece of metal that looks a bit like the gas tank holddowns that fits on a stud coming from the floor and fastens with a 10mm nut. The floorboard fits into a metal hoop on the top.

The floor board is fitted into a recess at the top and held in place by a metal retainer, flat washer and a 10mm nut. There shuould be a threaded stud coming up from the floor.
I can send pics if required. poorsha@shaw.ca

A closer shot
The stud had rusted and broken off so I drilled and taped it for a bolt.
