kit car or sportsracer?

Anybody know what this is? It is listed as a kit car, but I am wondering if it is a sportsracer.

Nah, it's not ugly, necessarily. The side view of the front end reminds me of the "berg spyder", but looks like it needs a front spoiler to avoid lift. The rear fenders look like 906 items. Weird that there were no pics of the front end head on.

I don't think it would be that bad looking if you put a low profile windshield on it and got rid of that billboard. Also the hoop is absolutely straight up and down. If you laid it back a little and made it more like a berg spyder, it might look pretty good.

Kind of reminds me of the Bradley GT kit cars that were around in the dune buggy era.

From the sportsracer perspective, it reminds me of the 1960's Elva, except for that street car style windshield, and the Elva was mid-engined.

at first glance it has a sort of chaparral look . sure wish it was mid-engined. that would be worth monkeying around with. the ad seems to avoid stating anything about the vw pan.

If you read the questions, the seller says it was based on a Chaparral...

It doesn't necessarily look too bad, aesthetically. Needs a little work, but not fugly. Hints of Chaparral, Elva, and 906, as already mentioned. But with Bug underpinnings, will it really go fast enough for aerodynamics to play any real significance?

From the doors back it resembles a Lola T70 Spider. But the nose is way off and the windshield wrecks it.

BTW: RCR makes a fantastic Lola T70 spider kit. The body is 100% accurate and its built on a modern all alloy welded monocoque with modern suspension and brakes. Designed for a Ford or Chevy V8 for around $50K finished you can have a 500hp, 2200lb fire breathing BEAST set to wreck all your P-car buddies egos at the next DE!
