Importance of CO adjustment

I read in "The Used 911 Story" that OEM engine gas lines were a liability for my car. Mine were cracked and so I removed the FI manifold and replaced the lines and of course new gaskets and insulators. The author recommended always having CO rechecked afterwards. I just did so and my CO was 1.7 as opposed to 0.8 factory spec! The wrench lowered it to 0.8 and said with 02 sensor reconnected it was at 0.3, very respectable. What's amazing is that since that adjustemt, for the first time since I've owned the car, the difference in sound and performance is palpable. Pete says that many times customers would call after tune-up service to ask how he put 30 extra horses in their cars! I can see why. I guess CO adjustment is often overlooked, so just want to put a plug in for it.
