G50 from964 into 89Carrera which starter to use?
 

Looking for advice solution to this problem..

G50/05 transmission from 92 964 C-2 mated to my 1989 Carrera with stock motronic and clutch system. The issue is the starter ring is larger in diameter, therefore I think it is grinding into the starter.

Anyone done this combination, if so is there a bolt on starter to use, or special starter-ring to buy?

The 964C2 starter would not work since I am using my stock Motronic, which needs the stock 89 flywheel for trigger.
