Can someone go check out a car in Costa Mesa, CA for me? Any PPI suggestions?

Hi all,

I'm helping a friend shop for his first P-car, and we located a beauty in Costa Mesa, CA. We are in NY, and would love it if someone could go do a "walk-around" for me in order to visually inspect the car. If if looks good, I need to help arrange for a PPI in that area as well. It a '96 C4S.

Can anyone help out or suggest a place for PPI?

Best,

Is it at European Collectibles? I saw most of their inventory 2 weeks ago.

Jon - I live in CT and bought my car in Michigan site unseen - but what I did and highly suggest is goto http://www.porsche.com/usa/dealers/ and plug in the zip for Cosa Mesa and call the nearest dealer. Talk to service manager and explain situation and tell them you will pay but want a car inspected. The charge is minimal. Then just arrange to have seller bring car to the dealer. Its great as they typically are totally impartial and if anything more partial to you as your the one flipping the bill so they did (for me at least) a great job inspecting the cars. I actually did this 3x before I found one that past the dealer inspection. One of the dealers felt bad and didnt even charge me as one of the 3 cars was such a dawg... Just an idea - GOOD LUCK!!!!

I wouldnt know what to look for on the car, but Rob Morgan at TruSpeed is a great guy. I know him through a shop I used to work for, and I would vouch for anything he says.

Hi all,

Thanks so mch for the input. The car is going thru a PPI now at Hergesheimer, a very reputable shop in the vincinity of the dealer. I'll let you know how it goes. Truspeed seems to have a fantastic reputation. Some Rennlisters have purchased thru them.

Best,
