ID a tachometer

Does this show the rear of a 1986 tachometer? (not my pic BTW)

If not, can anyone tell what it is?

Also, did every 1986 tach have a shift light (even the Euro cars)?

That doesn't look like the backside of the 3.2L tachs I've seen (different electrical connectors). The date stamps are upside-down and blurry so it's hard to tell though (month followed by a period, then the 2-digit year). If it is a 1986 tach, it may be a Euro version without the CASIS light.

Thanks - can anyone tell me how to wire it into a US 1986 Carrera?

Randy, the plugs are different- the Carreras have a rectangular plug that only fits one way. You would have to fabricate a harness to go between the two, but I don't know where you would find a plug to do that.

Also, that tach has four connections, only three, +12v, - and TD are necessary.

That looks like an '83 date stamp which would make it an SC tach. The five holes are two instrument lights, two signal lights and the high beam indicator.

Thanks.
