I bought a fender mount Carrera Oil Cooler from ER. Unfortunately all of the tech tips and posting I could find made no mention of what the two threaded openings at the top of the cooler (opposite the IN/OUT oil connections) are for? They would be at the top of the cooler and facing the bumper when the cooler is in place. Another question. How does the probe for the oil cooler fan thermostat install? I am guessing it just gets lodged in between the grid of the cooler?
Thanks! Andrew

Don't know about the two oulets (I can look later, if no one replys), but I'd think the probe would also work lying flat against the cooler. That is, if there's a way to keep it there. Generally, probes just need to be in the flow, rather than in direct contact. I could be wrong, of course.

Here is the reply I got from Chuck at ER. In case someone else is wondering the same thing.
Those two holes are used when attaching the factory fan thermostat, which you are not using. The small one is an electrical ground and doesn't go into the cooler. The larger one needs to plugged - use a 14mm oil pan drain plug available at any auto parts store. You are correct, the thermo probe slips in between the fins.
