CIS mixture, idle, run on questions

Engine is '82 3.0L with 20/21 grind cam. Is 3.0% CO my target for setting the mixture? I have a recollection that someone told me to shoot for 3.5%.

Right now the car's idle starts out fine, creeps up when warming up, but will eventually drop back to normal after a little driving and/or a restart.

Car will sometimes run on when shut down.

Suggestions?

I don't quite understand the problem. Could you clarify?

I need to make sure I'm shooting for the correct CO%. Is it 3.0%? 3.5%? Something else?

What CIS component might be causing the creeping idle?

The car sometimes runs on (ie diesels) when shut down. Is this a function of incorrect mixture? Something else?

Don't know about the mixture, but the creeping idle could be a bad aux air regulator, a miss adjusted decel valve, weak distributor advance springs, incorrect idle speed setting and even the possibility of an overrich mixture.

How was it before your messed with the mixture?

Cheers,

Joe
