What is normal RPM when idling?
 
I have another post, my car is a 77 with 2.7CIS what should the rpms be when idling?

Your car may have a sticker in the engine compartment with this information. Mine idles at 900 rpm.

For the standard 2.7 CIS, the spec. value is 850-950 RPM.
But I never managed to get it run smoothly well below 1000 to pass the smog test (switching on the AC and lights does the trick).
After new valve and ignition adjustment, my car runs at around 1000 RPM, unless really warmed through (1 h hard driving on a warm day, and settle down for 30 mins). Then, it runs at about 750-850.
I experienced in the past that the WUR is the weak point, but with the proper adjustment made, I feel very comfortable.
If you adjust too low, you might risk stalling at traffic lights and rough idle when really hot.
