My Try at Picture Posting

OK, here is the baby in turn 3 on the Jefferson Circuit at Summit Point in May. I was doing a BMW club Drivers' School. Note the cars behind me.

When these pictures were taken in May (I am posting a second one below), I was running Yoko AVS Sports. These are good tires for the street or rain tires for the track, but loose grip on a dry track. Hence, I was rotating a lot, though the rotation was very predictable and controllable. As a result, I probably could not achieve a true "up on three"
-
Two weeks ago at a three-day DE, I changed to Toyo Proxies R-rated tires - - WOW, what a change. A bit disconcerning on the first run however, since instead of rotating, the car was sticking AND LEANING more. I suspect I was probably up on three by the end of the third day.
-
On the third day, I was running with the Reisentoter region at Summit Point. They had been down for three days and the majority were bugging out eary for their three/four trek back to PA. (I live in Reston, only 50 minutes from the track.) In any event, since the track was so empty for the last several run groups, they opened it up to all groups for 60 minutes or so. All the Red and Black guys had gone home, so about 10 of us Green/Blue/White guys (used collectively, there were two females) had the track for an hour, non-stop. What an absolute BLAST! I was making two to four circuits without seeing anohter car. Then, the remaining laps with two cars in sight (993 and 87 Carerra). What a neat way to end the three-day event.

Below is another pic from the May session with the BMWs.

Hey, I like your car! At Mid-Ohio, I ran my street S02's. The weather was wet so they did fairly well. I have an event at Watkins Glen Thursday and I am going to try out new Yokohama A032R Track tires. I mounted these on my original Fuchs with 225 and 245 front and back. It will be interesting to see the difference from controlled sliding to sticking that you spoke about. Those are great photo's I might add! Here is a shot of inferior cars who will soon be passed be the superior handleling of a 911, (including the RS America). I recently installed an Authothority chip and I am looking forward to seeing how it runs. My impressions thus far have been positive. The engine just seems meaner? Besides Bruce Anderson has said" There are chips available now that will reliably enhance Porsche performance...." its on page 146. Anyhow, if you run premium gas in your car, its a good way to get a few HP's. Plus, I can break the wheels in first and second.
